Ronald Rooker (from Alkmaar) and his wife Sharon (from Dublin) have been busy creating a warm and welcoming Irish Pub for both Dutch and Irish alike. We like to call it, “The Irish Pub with the Dutch connection”. But as everybody knows, an Irish Pub welcomes everyone who walks through their doors. We hope that Gunnery’s will be a home away from home for all our customers from all nationalities. Everyone’s “Tighlinn” (gaelic for Our Home) in Alkmaar.

Gunnery’s Irish Pub opens it’s doors for the first time on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, 17th March 2007. Gunnery’s is situated by the Plattestenen brug (the flat stone bridge), opposite the fish market in the charming North Holland town of Alkmaar. Alkmaar, is renowned as the Cheese Town (Kaas stad) and has an unique old authentic feel about it. The perfect location for an Irish Pub.

We invite you to join us for a pint or a cup of tea, whatever tickles your fancy! and experience for yourself the friendly atmosphere of Gunnery’s.
